MOJO ("magical power") Theatre is loosely defined as having several of the following attributes:

• Highly theatrical
• Heightened language, sometimes using verse or free verse
• Strong socio-political content, but typically without a clear or singular point of view
• Utilizes expressionist, symbolist, and absurdist elements
• Electric performance style, with jaunty, self-aware performers
• Irreverent style that unapologetically combines the comic and tragic
• Epic in scope and storytelling
• Often lacking a uniform tone or style
